In 2018, Cycle Hamilton reached out to all municipal council and school board trustee candidates to ensure that cycling was a priority during the local election. We conducted an online survey and worked with volunteers to host a series of bike ride in order to identify opportunities and challenges for cycling.
Friendly Streets: Working together towards more walkable, bikeable neighbourhoods is a collaborative initiative between Cycle Hamilton and Environment Hamilton designed to engage community stakeholders in securing safer cycling and walking conditions in urban Hamilton.
The Cannon Street Cycle Track has been undergoing major construction during the past several months. During construction, the majority of the cycle track has been closed. Click here to learn more about our advocacy to ensure safe travel for riders during the closure of the cycle track.
A motion was recently proposed to Hamilton’s Public Works Committee regarding the potential for vehicles to park in the Bay Street bike lanes during “off peak” hours. Cycle Hamilton prepared an official letter in response to this motion.
